I’m Ed Valentine and I’m a 4-time Emmy winner for writing on Sesame Street; a Head Writer on Netflix/Nickelodeon’s Sharkdog and several Sesame International productions; a writer on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Fairly OddParents, Marvel’s Ultimate Spiderman, Superbuns, and lots of other TV shows; an award-winning playwright; a screenwriting and animation writing teacher at NYU; and an artistic director of theaters in NYC and the Berkshires.

About the course
Using techniques I've developed over two decades, I'll help you lean into structure to make it work for you. While honoring your style of writing. we'll explore how to deepen and enliven your characters, settings, and conflicts. You, your fellow writers, and I will offer clear but constructive critique to the submitted pages (10-12 pages per week from each writer). The ultimate goal is to complete a draft of one long one-act play (75-90 pages), or the first act of a two-act play (45-60 pages).
